Rubik’s Race: Two-Player Speed-Puzzle Classic!

rubiks-race-boxRemember Rubik’s Race? This classic Rubik’s spin-off game is back on the market with University Games, and it’s still a quick to learn, fun head-to-head visual challenge.

How to Play Rubik’s Race

For those of you who don’t know how to play, it’s pretty simple. Each player has a 5×5 grid with 24 color tiles – so there’s 1 tile missing.   There’s a shaker with a 3 by 3 grid that will show 9 colors in a square. Once the shake is done, the two players will now race to match the color tiles in the shaker by sliding the tiles around their grid. Once a player matches what’s been rolled they take the divider in the center and slam it down on their side to block out the extra tiles and show that they’re done. As long as they got it correct they’ve won!

This either is your kind of game or it isn’t. I enjoy speed puzzle games and therefore, I really enjoyed playing Rubik’s Race. It’s quick and you can play one round or best of 5 – it’s really up to you. If your friends or family enjoy this kind of game I think it would make for a fun tournament during a family party. Even if you just left it out on your coffee table during the holidays I bet you’d find some people playing it in no time!
