It was the 14th Annual TAGIE Awards on Friday and sadly, another year of it being virtual — but the Zoom watch party was fun and I’m always so impressed by the people in my industry!
Congrats to all the 14th Annual TAGIE nominees, but a huge high five to two time TAGIE winner Peggy Brown (and Associates) for their TAGIE in Excellence in Games! Fun note – not only is this Peggy’s second TAGIE, she was also nominated in both the game AND toy categories this year because she’s just that awesome! Really – she does some amazing work! You can see more about Peggy on her POP Profile Page.
Also of note, the recently deceased inventors Theo and Ora Coster were the winners of the TAGIE for Toys for their amazing global craze Pop-Its! Fun tidbit here — the original Pop-Its isn’t a toy, it’s a game. So look for the non-knock-offs at your local Target in the Chuckle and Roar section and learn to play. Theo and Ora, who started Theora Design had an amazing impact on the toy and game industry with classics such as Guess Who? Their family carries on the legacy from their studio in Israel. You can read more about Pop-Its here: The Times of Israel: Anne Frank’s Israeli Classmate Behind Popular Breast-Inspired Fidget Toy And you can read more about Theora Design on their POP Profile Page.
