Utter Nonsense FAMILY — won’t offend the older adults!

I hate reading articles about games that aren’t out yet.  I get all excited about something new (like the Splendor expansion) but then I have to wait for the game goodness!  This is the reason I almost never write about games that aren’t out yet, but today I’m going to break that rule.  Why?  Well it’s Father’s Day this weekend and I know many of you will get together with family and you might be looking for something to do to avoid any possible political discussions that seem to be everywhere these days.  That and there’s some exciting news from the Utter Nonsense! folks — they’ve got a FAMILY edition coming out!  It’s a Target exclusive that comes out June 18th!  Yes – ON Father’s Day so you’ll have to swing by a Target on your way to wherever it is you are going and while you’re there pick up a card for whoever you forgot.

Unlike the previous ADULT version of Utter Nonsense! that’s for ages 18+, the family version of the game is for ages 8+.  The game play is the same “Utter Nonsense is a card game where players combine silly scents with even sillier phrases to create sayings that are just plain ridiculous.” Use 1 accent card and then everyone reads one of their phrase cards with that accent and the judge deems one player the round winner.  Same game… just not dirty so you don’t have to worry about making your elder relatives blush and your siblings with younger children mad at you.

If you want to read my review on the original ADULT version, you can see that HERE (scroll to the bottom of the page).  If you want to buy the original version you can find it at more places than just Target (use the links below to support The Game Aisle.)  But again – the Family version is only at Target and I’ll post a link to that when it’s available.

Have a great Father’s Day everyone and try out this awesome new game (even if it isn’t on Father’s Day)!

Utter Nonsense! Family Stats:

Thanks for the review. Since most of the games I play are with my family, which includes young children, there are a lot of games that have no interest for me – like Cards Against Humanity and that whole genre. This looks like one that I would have fun with!

Hope you have a great weekend!
